Terms of Use
Last updated: June 22, 2026
SyncX is a personal-use tool created and owned by Baobab Audio. By downloading, installing, or using SyncX, you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, don't use it.
The license
SyncX is proprietary software, free to use but not free to redistribute. The full license text lives in the repository's LICENSE.md.
In short: you can run it as much as you want for personal or professional DJ work. You cannot resell it, fork it as your own product, repackage it, or use the SyncX name and branding for anything else.
Your account
SyncX requires an account (email + password). Keep your password secure — you're responsible for activity under your account. Use an email you control; one person per account. You can delete your account and all of your personal data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. See the Privacy Policy for what account and usage data we process.
Acceptable use
SyncX automates a workflow many DJs already do manually: turning playlists they curated online into local audio files for their DJ sets. You're responsible for using SyncX in line with your local laws, the terms of any services involved, and any rights agreements you have with rightsholders.
You agree not to use SyncX to:
- Mass-distribute downloaded audio files (e.g., uploading them to public file-sharing services, selling them, or sharing them with audiences who haven't licensed the underlying music).
- Circumvent platform protections beyond what SyncX itself does (reading public metadata and accessing publicly available audio sources).
- Use SyncX as part of a service you charge for that essentially resells SyncX functionality (build your own tool if that's your goal).
Content rights
SyncX is a download tool, not a license to play music. The audio files SyncX produces are subject to the same copyright restrictions as the source material. Public DJ performance, broadcasting, and online streaming of those tracks may require additional licenses (PRO blanket license, club performance license, etc.) — that's between you and the relevant rights organizations, not SyncX.
We don't claim any rights to the audio you obtain. We don't host audio. We don't redistribute audio. SyncX simply orchestrates existing public tools on your behalf.
No warranty
SyncX is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. Match quality varies. Sometimes a track won't have a clean public source; sometimes the wrong mix gets matched (which is why SyncX shows a confidence score and a picker). We don't guarantee SyncX will work on every machine, with every playlist, or at any particular speed.
We are not liable for: lost work, missed gigs, deleted files, broken Serato databases, broken VirtualDJ databases, or any other damage real or imagined arising from your use of SyncX. Always keep backups of your DJ libraries.
Donations are donations
If you tip via PayPal, Patreon, or any future supporter tier, those are voluntary donations to the developer. They are not a purchase of SyncX, and they don't grant you rights beyond what this license already gives every user. Donations are non-refundable except where required by law.
Changes to SyncX and these terms
SyncX is a single-developer project that ships often. Features may change, get removed, or behave differently between versions. We'll mention significant changes in the in-app changelog and on the landing page, but we don't promise feature stability between versions before v1.0.
We may update these terms over time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when we did. If we make a substantive change (something you'd actually care about), we'll surface a notice in the app and on this page rather than silently changing it.
Termination
You can stop using SyncX at any time by uninstalling it. We can terminate your right to use SyncX if you violate these terms — for example, by redistributing the installer publicly or repackaging SyncX as your own product. In practice, "termination" mostly means we'll send you a cease-and-desist before involving anyone else.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. Any disputes will be resolved in Ghanaian courts unless we mutually agree otherwise.
